Summary
State-level policies create important guardrails for maintaining high levels of immunization coverage and limiting the spread of vaccine-preventable diseases in our communities. To help address Colorado’s low childhood immunization rates, state lawmakers are working on a bi-partisan basis to pass legislation that aims to standardize and strengthen the immunization exemption process, without compromising the rights of parents who choose not to vaccinate. Join Immunize Colorado and other member organizations from the Colorado Vaccinates coalition to learn more about this proposed legislation. At this meeting, presenters will discuss:
• The Colorado Vaccinates coalition, its member organizations and their role
• This year’s vaccine bill, how it differs from current Colorado law and its intended impact
• Polling data that describes Coloradans’ views of stronger vaccine policy
• Communications strategy and materials for supporting the passage of this bill
